For £50 per week, your child(ren) will join a small group online and be taught by one of our fantasic teachers. Together they will go on a journey to explore the life of one of four amazing authors, discovering their books and pushing the limits of their imaginations.

The week will end with a live Q&A session from the feautured author and your child will recieve a copy of their favouritebook in the post. Select from the authors on offer below which week you’d like to join, you can join as many as you want!

Monday 27th July - Friday 31st July

Featured author: Steve Skidmore

Leicester born Steve has written over 250 books for children and edited many more for several major publishing houses. Steve is in demand across the world – he has visited hundreds of schools and libraries delivering talks and masterclasses to thousands of students. In 2019, Steve became Leicester’s Patron of Reading.

Activity highlights: Designing your own killer food, creating maps to amazing worlds, designing your own graphic novels.

Monday 3rd August - Friday 7th August

Featured author: Bali Rai

Bali Rai has written over forty novels about teenagers and children. Born in Leicester, his writing is inspired by his working-class, multicultural background. A leading voice in UK teen fiction, Bali is a passionate advocate of libraries, reading for pleasure and promoting literacy.

Activity highlights: Understanding our own brains, creating crazy creatures and how to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!

Monday 10th August - Friday 14th August

Featured author: Jo Simmons

Jo began life working as a magazine journalist, but has been writing children’s books since 2012. My Parents Cancelled My Birthday is her tenth book, released in July 2019. Her story I Swapped My Brother On The Internet has won several awards, was shortlisted for the Lollies 2020 and was one of Tom Fletcher’s picks for his WHSmith Book Club in 2018.

Activity highlights: Designing your dream sibling, making brains and finding out why the pig really ended up on the roof!

Monday 17th August - Friday 21st August

Featured author: Tom Palmer

Tom Palmer writes children’s books about sport, spies, ghosts, war and detectives. Tom has had lots of other jobs before he was an author. His list includes milkman, working in a warehouse but his favourite was his time working in a bookshop. Tom is also a big football fan.
