Supporting Schools'

Recovery Curriculum

"How are we getting on?"

A reflective workbook for school leaders

This workbook has been created for Doncaster Opportunity Area in October 2020 to support school leaders as they reflect upon the return to school process following the pandemic lockdown.

Its structure and content follows the approach taken by Ofsted in their autumn 2020 Interim Visits and the DfE Recovery Offer. The prompts and questions have been developed from information kindly shared by Murray Park Community School (Derby), Glossopdale School (Derbyshire), West Gate School (Leicester) and the St Thomas Aquinas Multi-Academy Trust (Leicestershire).

We hope the workbook provides useful support to school leaders as they reflect on the effort and hard work being made to support children and young people.

If your school is selected by Ofsted for an Interim Visit, then this workbook should prepare you for their conversations so they acknowledge the measures you are taking. Even if your school is not selected, hopefully the workbook helps you to evaluate your progress since September and plan next steps.
